Get job ready at school

Helping to skill and prepare our students for life after school is the focus of the different types of learning at Morisset High School. 

We partner with students and families to support each student to idenify their unique talents and interests, to help each student to pursue training,  and learning, to set them on the path to achieve their goals for life, careers, trades and employment after school.

MHS offers nationally recognised qualifications

Students in Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 can chose to study Vocational Edication and Trainging (VET) courses at Morisset High School (MHS).

Morisset High School is a Registered Training Organisation, with our highly-qualified and skilled teachers sharing their knowledge and teaching a national curriculum.

The low-cost qualifications students achieve are recognised nationally and can be a stepping stone to further study, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment after school.

Learn in demand skills at school

Ensuring students have the skills and knowledge to find their path to success in trades, careers and the workforce after school is a key focus of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Faculty at MHS.

We have specialist training spaces on-site, like our commercial kitchen and cafe, Industrial Arts training centre, and agriculture centre so we can offer hands-on learning and skills training for our students while they are at school, to help prepare them for their future, and work in a range of industries, carers and trades.

Different skills & courses to suit your interests

Certificate II in Hospitality - Food and Beverage

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. Students learn these high demand skills at our commercial kitchen and cafe.

Certificate III in Retail

Around 10 per cent of the national workforce is in retail. This qualification prepares students to work in various retail roles and community pharmacy.

Certificate II in Agriculture (Primary Industries)

There is high demand for skilled workers in agriculture and related industries. This qualification gives students hands-on experience at our Agriculture Centre and technical knowledge to work with animals and manage agricultural assets and machinery.

Certificate III in Live Production (Entertainment)

This qualification empowers students with in-demand technical skills for work in the entertainment industry, and live performance or events production.

Certificate II in Construction

High demand vocational and work skills and technical knowledge taught to students in this qualification which are suitable for employment and further training in the construction industry.

Certificate I in Manufacturing and Engineering (Metals)

High-demand manufacturing, engineering installation, repair and maintenance skills taught to students in this qualification are applied across most Australian industries, in small to medium enterprtises to large organisations.

Certificate III in Sports Coaching

Sports Coaching teaches students to practise ways of, adopting and maintaining a healthy, productive and active life.
