Our 2025 Junior AECG President and Prefect, Saxon Ianna, has been accepted to join the prestigious NAISDA Dance College next year.

Saxon came to the attention of NAISDA's recruitment staff saw Saxon perform as part of the Aboriginal dance troupe at Starstruck earlier this year.

Being selected to be part of NAISDA is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Saxon, who was not sure what path he wanted to pursue when he finished school. Saxon's passion for sharing his culture through dance and playing the Didgeridoo has been nurtured throughout his time at MHS, and with the support of mentors, including former MHS student Johnathan Wright from Dhinewan Mentoring.

NAISDA Dance College is Australia’s leading arts training organisation providing nationally accredited qualifications specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

We are so proud of you, Saxon, and can't wait to see you share your love of culture with a much bigger audience!

Congratulations to Sam Freeman, whose musical talent has been recognised by HSC markers, earning him a nomination for the statewide HSC showcase - ENCORE!

This is an incredible achievement by the talented percussionist and performer, who completed VET Music Industry qualifications in Year 11, in addition to his HSC Music course.

Encore is the prestigious annual showcase of exemplary HSC music performances, compositions, and musicology projects, presented at the Sydney Opera House each year.

The outstanding creativity, craftsmanship and commitment of two of our Year 12 Industrial Technology - Timber students have been recognised by the HSC markers. Brock Barber and Jamie Tomic's incredible major works have been selected to be part of the prestigious SHAPE Exhibition.

SHAPE presents a selection of outstanding major projects by HSC Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, Textiles and Design students in NSW.

Brock and Jamie's major works will be part of the exhibition, held at the University of Technology, Sydney, from March 16 to April 11, 2026. The exhibition will be free to attend.

We encourage our students to take on challenging tasks at MHS! Making the NSW finals of the Prime Minister's Spelling Bee is an outstanding achievement for any student. Still, for Nathan, who has recently moved to Australia from the Philippines, his achievement is exceptional! Congratulations, Nathan, on your commitment to learning.

Congratulations Big Picture student Jarvis Watson, for being selected as one of eh PCYC Indigenous All-Stars Team, which will travel to the USA to play Varsity High School teams, meet NBA stars and engage in community outreach. This is a great opportunity for Jarvis to grow his skills and develop his talents in basketball.
